Need a new family car with lots of space

We are upgrading our Mazda 5 and want something that is large and fun to drive. We've had issues in the past with my tall husband sitting in the front passenger seat leaving minimal leg room for a daughter. Our current car is a diesel, would a petrol engine be better?

If you want legroom, a Skoda Superb estate, preferably with the 1.4TSI 150 ACT engine and manual transmission.
