Which hatchback is best for £8000?
I am looking to buy a secondhand car and have about £8000 to spend. It's going to be a family car. Ideally I'd like a five-door hatchback, with a bit of performance. I like the look of the BMW 1 Series and Audi A3. I also like the Lexus CT. Which would you choose?

The Lexus CT200 is anything but quick and is really just a glorified Prius. A Toyota Auris HSD with the same drivetrain is quicker and more economical, but still not exactly quick. If I was you I'd have a go at: www.honestjohn.co.uk/chooser/ Play around with the various buttons and see what it comes up with.
