Unacceptable road noise on Audi A3 - what can I do?
My recently purchased Audi A3 Sportback S-Line is fitted with 225/40 R18Y Contisport contact tyres which produce a lot of noise over 30mph. The dealer says this is normal, but I find it unacceptable. How do I find out what the DBA noise level is on these tyres and what alternatives are available?

Look up the tyres on the Continental website where it will give you the EC dB level. But the real problem is the width and profile of the tyres. If you want quieter tyres, switch the wheels to 16 inch and fit with Michelin Cross Climates.
