How can I make my Toyota Yaris' instruments easier to see in bright sunlight?
I have recently purchased a new Toyota Yaris and I am generally quite happy with my choice. However there is a 'but'. This model has an analogue instrument panel, lit in an orange colour. The Yaris I had previously had a digital instrument panel lit in a vivid green. I understand that the change to the analogue system came about by public demand. I have found that, in bright sunlight, it is very difficult to see anything in the right-hand corner of the instrument panel, and should the sunlight shine on the instrument panel glass at certain angles, it becomes impossible to see at what speed you are travelling, which obviously leaves you very vulnerable in areas where there are speed cameras.
I am told by Toyota that they have not had any complaints about this and unfortunately are unable to help in this matter. Has there been any mention of this on your site, and could you offer any advice?

No one has complained about this before and we've never experienced any problems when driving the Yaris, but we can imagine that bright sunshine could reflect off the panel. Unfortunately many modern cars of this type come with similar instrument dials with angles glass covers. There's not really much to suggest apart from making sure it's on the brightest illumination setting.
