Is there anything I can do to prevent rust affecting my Hyundai i30's fuel tank?

In your car-by-car review of the Hyundai i30 you say the fuel tank will eventually rust. Will an underseal from new help prevent this? Are there any likely problems if underseal is applied?

Hyundai applies its own treatment, so anything added on top might either react or trap moisture already there. I was a bit surprised to find they still fitted steel tanks. All VAG cars have composite tanks and have done since the 1980s.
