How do I fit a replacement wing mirror to my Mazda 3?

Replacing the wing mirror on my Mazda 3 looked like a simple job, but as with most things I am not sure that it is now. I have had to buy a new driver's side wing mirror with the backing, having had some lovely person clip it as they sped towards me and drove off. Is it simply a case of pushing the mirror casing into the lugs on the main body of the wing casing, or should I just go and pay £40 for Mazda to fit it?

I don't know. It is a fairly simply job on a Focus, which shares some parts.
