Buying a first car for a teenager - what would you recommend?
We are about to buy a first car for a teenage boy learning to drive. We think a Volkswagen Up would be a good option (not sure which would be the best model though) but our son prefers the look of a Corsa. Which would you recommend?

Vauxhalls Corsas are fashionable with younger drivers and have been for 20 years. The new GM 1.0 engines are as good if not better than the Up's. Thinking sensibly you could also consider a Suzuki Celario or a Vauxhall Viva, though these are unlikely to appeal to a testosterone fuelled teenage boy. You have to keep it under 1.0 litre for insurance to be affordable. Maybe compromise with a Vauxhall Adam 1.0.
