How do I change my 2001 Audi A3's oil and filter?

Can you please tell me if I can change the oil and filter on my 2001 Reg Audi A3 1.6 SE Manual? How do I do this.

It is possible to change the oil/filter on most cars, however you would need a suitable area (ie a pit or ramp) so that you can get underneath the car. You would also need a receptacle to collect the old oil, plus a process to dispose of the old oil. We do not have the definitive details of each and every car and so would suggest you obtain a workshop manual (you can get one from "emanualonline.com for £9.99). Or, if you don't have the facilities, then you could buy your own oil and filter and ask your local garage to do the job. It shouldn't be that expensive.

After carrying out an oil change, I have a leak from the sump plug. I used a metal washer from the filter pack, not a copper one, as I would have expected to seal the sump plug. Could this be the cause?
