which one do you consider best

Hi H.J.

I have owned since new , 2004, an x trail. The car has done 104000 . it has been very reliable during the 11 years.I now want to replace it . Max spend is 14000.My choice of cars is between x trail, sante fe,sorrento, freelander.

I am not too concerned with co2 missions/tax bands

Which would be your preference.

Many thanks

I'd go for a post-2010 KIA Sorento or Hyundai Santa Fe, which are basically the same vehicle with an tough, chain cam 2.2 litre 'R-Type' diesel engine. Far better as a manual and, if a Sorento, in KX2 Nav spec. As 'honest' a vehicle as the original X-Trail, capable of 40mpg at 70mph on the motorway, balance of 7 year warranty with a Sorento or balance of 5 year warranty with a Santa Fe. Latest X-Trail 1.6DCI 160 not in your price range. Freelanders have had too many faults to recommend them.
