Should I have my BMW 320d SE's engine rebuilt?
I have a 320d SE BMW Touring on an 04 plate. Mechanics tell me a piston has lost compression and a new or replacement engine is needed. Where can I get such a part? Do I go ahead if it's cost prohibitive, given that the car is only worth £5000? How much to buy the engine and fit it? Should I cut my losses and part exchange it, and if so how much could I expect in its current condition?

Have it rebuilt by a member of www.fer.co.uk. The replacement engine business has more crooks operating in it than there are in jail.
