Suspension problems on a Golf

I own a Volkswagen Golf Match 1.4 TSI from 2012. In recent months I have experienced a very heavy suspension problem. The suspension is not responding to the road surface and it is rather like driving with over inflated tyres. The tyres have been checked and rechecked and that is not the problem. Given that the car is out of warranty in the very near future what would your advice be.

Assuming it's on 205/55 R16 tyres, the simple answer is to drop the pressures to 30PSI all round. That is what I have had to do on a succession of cars in order to get a decent combination of ride comfort and handling. The pressures increase with heat to 32-33PSI in use, so 30 cold is not under-inflated.
