EA189 engine
I spent some time a couple of days ago going through all my documentation including the registration, mot's etc to try to find which engine version I have. I've looked at the V5C again and despite your assertions I can't see any numbers relating to EA189 or similar. Engine no. Variant and version, yes. Its capacity is 1968cc, 170PS with CO2 emissions of 139g/kg. Any thoughts?

This is the EA189 engine and is the engine under investigation. It should say something to the effect of EU5 at the top next to its emissions rating.
