New crossover buying advice?
I live in a predominantly dusty, unpaved or pothole riddled driving environment. We would like to buy a new car that can best handle our rough road conditions. My budget is in the £22,000. I need enough boot space with folding seats to haul a variety of found objects I use in my artwork and would like the back seats to be high enough for my elderly parents to easily climb in and out. The Yeti caught my eye but I wonder if there is something out there a bit shorter as our streets are tight and parking scarce. It does snow here so I also wonder if I need a 4x4 or just a very strong suspension and high ground clearance. I prefer utility over style but want a full safety kit.

Suzuki has just announced a new 1,373cc petrol turbo engine for its Vitara that offers an excellent combination of power and economy in a very competent, nice riding four wheel drive SUV. The figures are 140PS, 220Nm torque from 1,500rpm, 127g/km CO2, 52.7mpg and 120mph. No DPFs and EGRs to worry about with a petrol engine, yet it provides diesel economy and performance.
