New MINI needs a new engine - what are my rights?

I purchased new MINI Cooper 3 door hatch June 2015. Three months later developed problems. Garage says engine needs replacing, crankshaft problems etc. I feel uneasy about car having new engine. What about resale, will it be affected by having new engine?

First I've heard of any of the new BMW modular 1.5 3-cylinder or 2.0 4-cylinder engines needing replacement. Once it has been replaced, all should be well and a new engine enhances rather than diminishes the car's value.
