Car for elderly in-laws

My elderly in-laws are both blue badge holders and are really struggling to get in and out of their Citroen C5. They now have a budget of around £8000 to spend and are looking for something smaller than the Multipla, high seating and space for three child seats. They do a lot of short journeys and around 12000 miles per year. Do you have any suggestions for suitable cars please?

Three child seats across is a problem for short and tall cars like the Kia Venga, Hyundai ix20 and Ford B-MAX. Kind of points towards a Citroen C4 Picasso or Peugeot 5008. But the best solution to accommodate the heights as well is a Citroen Berlingo Multispace or Peugeot Partner Teepee, both of which have three across, sliding and folding centre row seats.
