How to fix fault windscreen washers?
The windscreen washer jets on my BMW 3 Series only put water onto lower part of windscreen (until last week they worked perfectly but have gradually failed to put water to the top of the screen). The rear tailgate and head lights washers work perfectly. BMW want £120 to cure problem without looking at it, (1hr labour because wheel needs removing).

BMW seems to want to replace the pump or clean the pump filter in the washer reservoir and the only way to get at it is to take a wheel off. But have you tried adjusting the angle of the washer jet nozzles with a pin or a paperclip? Another reason could be sludge blocking the filter to the washer pump and you might be able to clear that by pushing a hosepipe as far as it will go into the washer reservoir then holding it there while someone else turns on the tap. That might blast the crud out of the washer reservoir and filter. Has worked for me in the past.
