Stalling Nissan Pathfinder problem

When the engine is not under load (idling or coasting to a stop) my Pathfnder sometimes cuts out, or very nearly cuts out. When this happens it will not idle properly and needs to be turned off and restarted. What would the likely cause be?

We have owned it almost from new and it has been a very reliable car with the clutch and DMF replaced about 6 months ago at circa 90,000 miles, which in our view was acceptable .

It may be prudent to have a diagnostic check carried out in the first instance as the fault /s could be a number of things.

The diagnostic should show up a fault code/s ( P ---- 4 numbers) which can then be related to the problem.

However before that do check all air intake hoses/connections for any leaks.
