Should I do a speed awareness course or take the points for speeding?

I have been offered two alternatives for speeding at 36 in a 30mph area. I can either pay £60 with three penalty points, or pay £104 and go to a speed management course without any penalty points. Which should I do, and is this a legal offer?

Yep, many forces offer a course in place of points if you're only a few miles over the limit. If your job depends on having a clean licence, it's worth doing the course even if it is more expensive.
