My Saab 9-3 needs work to pass the MoT - where could I sell it instead?
We have a 1998 Saab 9-3 convertible 2.3 with 90,000 miles, which required some interior work and some work on possible electrical faults with the windscreen wiper and the soft top. We passed our car to a mechanic before the MOT expired on the car. We have since been informed that these electrical problems are not electrical, but require replacement of the windscreen wiper motor and the motor for retracting and extending the soft top. The range of quotes for these components is as follows: Windscreen wiper motor - £160-£230; Soft top motor - £500-£800; labour - £400-£600.
We could be spending up to £1600 before we sell the car, which realistically could achieve about £2500. The MOT has now expired and this would require the windscreen wipers to be fixed. We would like to sell the car and realise as much money as possible, but the main aim is to sell the car quickly with as little fuss as possible. Could you please advise your recommended course of action?

Whack it through BCA Sure Sell (www.sure-sell.info). If you get £900 for it you're better off than fixing it and selling it for £2500 because you save a massive amount of hassle.
