Need a hatchback with an auto 'box

I currently own a 2011 Volkswagen Golf 1.4TSI DSG. I like it, but I'm not happy with the seven-speed DSG box, especially after coming from a six-speed DSG in my previous car which was a 2007 Golf GTI.

I know there are issues with this gearbox, so am thinking to get rid before it gets costly and I'd like advice on what to buy. I'd buy another later GTI, but I don't do the miles to justify, so would like recommendations of a good petrol engined auto?

Mazda 2, Mazda 3 or Mazda 6. All have excellent six-speed torque converter autos. Or step up to a BMW, but a Mazda is more reliable.
