How do I get a trader's number for auction purchases?

I buy and sell cars but I am now away to start to buy from auction, but they need a trader's number. How do I go about getting this?

Never heard of this. Do you mean an auction account? This will mean lodging £10,000 to £20,000 in a bank account.
