Can you recommend a luxury car for £6k?

Can you recommend a luxury car for £6000? I drive about 10,000 miles a year and want something that's comfortable and stylish. I like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Audi A6, but can't make up my mind.

If buying an W211 E-Class, make sure it's post the summer 2006 facelift. That fixed a lot of potential problem areas, particularly the brakes. See the entries in www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar for all of these cars. BMW E60 5-Series can suffer rusting brake pipes. Avoid Audi A6 2.0TDIs from 2004-2011, because they can have an oil pump drive problem.
