Water ingress with Ford Cougar

After heavy rain or washing a small pool of water appears in the nearside rear passenger footwell of my 2001 Ford Cougar. I am at a complete loss to find how it is coming in. The front near side passenger foot well remain dry. Is there a blocked drain, vent or cable trunking somewhere that could be the issue?

I would guess it's caused by a poor seal of the passenger side door window.
