I paid £46,000 for a new Range Rover Evoque last year and have recently discovered a series of cracks in the panoramic roof. I took the car back to the dealer and they found a pin prick of a chip in the roof which they say had caused the cracks. The dealer state that this is a repair not covered under warranty and therefore should be an insurance claim.

I have argued that if Land Rover is selling vehicles that have a panoramic roof that is susceptible to cracking so easily then as an off road vehicle it is not fit for purpose and therefore they should repair it. I have repeatedly requested from Land Rover what tests they put these roofs through as they are supposedly all terrain vehicles but have had no reply from them.

I am reluctant to give in having paid such a large amount of money for the vehicle so would welcome your suggestions as to any options I now have.
