Renault Scenic door won't open - why?

The driver's door on my Renault Scenic will not unlock, even on the inside. Any ideas?

Sluggish lock servo probably due to moisture ingress. Try to disperse the moisture with WD40. There may be a plugged access hole in the door frame.
