Vauxhall Zafira door lock problem

My Vauxhall Zafira has a problem with the remote door locking function. The ignition immobiliser works fine, but the doors suffer an inconsistent fault and occasionally stop working. The key has been resynchronised and I've replaced the battery in the keyfob, but neither has solved the problem. Can you offer any advice?

Old car. Old electronics. Could be that the wiring of the key itself is worn out. Worth getting a duplicate key made by Timpsons with the same coding. If you still have a problem you could try calling in a <car electrical specialist> (www.yell.com)
