Is it still worth buying a diesel?
Given the recent news that diesels are not as clean as we'd been led to believe, do you foresee any future issues with buying a new diesel, specifically larger 4x4s like the Volkswagen Touareg?

The biggest problem is failure of the expensive emissions equipment that these cars are forced to carry. Foe example a Touareg 3.0V6TDI has two diesel particulate filters at £1000 each. But one reader had them successfully cleaned by the Ceramex process for £300 each. The only way out is a hybrid 4x4.
