Water pump failure on a used car - what are my rights?

I recently bought a 2007 MINI Cooper from a dealer with a three month warranty. Within a few weeks of ownership, the car suffered a water leak and I’ve been quoted £270 to fix. The dealer isn’t interested and the warranty firm says it isn’t covered. What should I do?

Take the matter up with whoever sold you the car. He is liable and if the warranty he sold you with the car doesn't cover it, he has to. Law here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/
