When's the best time to buy a new car?

Im aware that the new number plate this year gets released in march. I was just wondering from your experience when the best prices are available for used cars from the main dealer. Will it be prior to march, before march or a specific date/week range.

It's usually in late October/early November. The influx of p/x cars is not necessarily huge at the time of the March reg change and usually corresponds with a spike in demand as Spring approaches. But if the part exchanges are sticking, and the dealer needs cashflow, you may find his leftover cars being released more cheaply at auction during the last week of April.
