Need a premium compact diesel auto for £8k
I have a 2004 Mini One auto with a gearbox issue that isn't viable to repair. So I am looking to scrap it and buy a used small car or compact SUV. I have £8000 to spend quite like the BMW 3 Series. What do you suggest?

320D autos generally okay apart from the N47 timing chain issue. See www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar entry VAG twin oil clutch 6-speed DSGs on 2.0TDIs much better than the disastrous dry clutch 7-speed DSGs on 1.4 petrols and 1.6TDIs.
