Which tyres could I fit to my wife's Mazda 2 Sport to reduce road noise?
My wife's 53-reg Mazda 2 Sport (old boxy model) is a decent enough car, but runs on rather low profile tyres (195/50 R15) and generates loads of road/tyre noise. Currently it has Firestone Firehawks all round. Can you recommend an alternative which will be significantly quieter? And is it possible to fit a tyre with a deeper sidewall without infringing regulations and/or insurance?

Michelin Energy or Michelin Pilot Primacy HP (depending on size) are the quietest. Changing tyres won't infringe any regulations or insurance, as long as they are the correct size for the car/wheel.
