Need a used 4x4 for £7000 - what do you recommend?
Due to the present political climate I may be forced off the Motability Scheme and will need to purchase a vehicle. Due to financial restraints it will be a second hand vehicle, but I don’t know what to buy. I'm inclined towards a four-wheel drive, about 2005 age, Land-Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Kia, Hyundai and Nissan. The list of what's good and bad is daunting.
I seem to be leaning towards the Kia Sportage or the Mercedes-Benz ML-Class. The Kia looks a better choice with the better MPG, but I also like the ML. Which should I buy with a budget if £7000?

Definitely not a Mercedes ML unless you have a bottomless pit of money to spend on it.
The old KIA Sportage and Hyundai Tucson diesel were okay, with excellent rear seat folding mechanisms, but were't economical. The most reliable and practical SUV was the 2001-2006 Honda CR-V 2.0iVTEC, but it wasn't economical, especially if it was auto.
