Buying a used automatic - which is best for £9000?
Till recently I had a company leased car - a Ford Focus 1.6 diesel , Titanium X trim, with plenty of optional features (driver assistance pack, blind spot information System...). I now have to buy a car and I am keen on buying a used car in a category similar to the car I had before, except that I would like an automatic.
My budget is £9000 and I was initially looking at the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus, but you have in the past strongly recommended against opting for cars with DSG boxes, so I guess that rules out Volkswagen Golf.
Some automatics cars that you have recommended to other readers (Suzuki Splash 1.2 auto, Vauxhall Agila 1.2 auto, Hyundai i10 1.2 auto, KIA Picanto 1.2 auto) are too small or basic for my needs. I did take a look at used Mazda 3s, but I have not been able to find an actual (used) car on sale which has the feature set I want.
This takes me back to Ford Focus, where there is plenty of choice as far as used cars go, and the options I see are 1.6 Petrol PowerShift and 2.0 Diesel PowerShift for Titanium trim, and 2.0 Diesel PowerShift for Titanium X trim. Which of these combinations would you recommend, if any?

The dry clutch Powershift fitted to lower powered engines (1.0 and 1.6 petrol) has had oil seal problems. The wet clutch Powershift fitted to 2.0 litres petrol and diesel engines is more reliable but still needs and expensive oil and filter change every three years.
