Mercedes-Benz E-Class auto refusing to change gear

I have a Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate 220CDI, 2008 model. Recently, I have been experiencing problems with the automatic transmission, in that the car will not change gear as required.

Typically when this happens, the car will not advance beyond second gear, until I stop the car, turn off the ignition and restart. The problem is occasional, but becoming more frequent. Any ideas?

Get it to an automatic transmission specialist (www.fedauto.co.uk) who will probably recommend a change of automatic transmission fluid.
