Stone chip problem with Jaguar XJ
I purchased a 2012 Jaguar XJ (12 plate) six weeks ago from an authorised Jaguar dealer, with about 22,500 miles on the clock. After purchase I waxed the car with Autoglym and it looked great.
Now after six weeks and about 1000 miles I have noticed that the entire bonnet is covered in white flecks which were definitely not visible on purchase. I have taken it to a local bodywork shop who have said that they are stone chips and that the bonnet needs re-spraying. Furthermore on examining the paintwork on the bonnet they think that a polish may have been used to cover over the chips.
The car is parked on my driveway in a quiet cul-de-sac overnight and I am always very careful when driving to keep a good distance from the car in front and would be aware if a large number of stones had landed on my bonnet over the last six weeks.

Did you 'wax' it, or did you 'polish' it? Did you use Autoglym hi-def wax? If you used a polish it will have cut away whatever the dealer's prep guys used to block out the stone chips.

Will using bleach or a weed killer to get rid of green moss/lichen on my paintwork? Or will it simply damage the bodywork?

I've just purchased a 2010 Toyata Verso. The paintwork looked good in the forecourt with a couple of patches where it seemed as if the surface shine has been rubbed off. However, after a week or so more...
