Buying new tyres - speed ratings?

I'm looking to change the tyres on my 2004 Honda Civic Type S. It currently has Pirelli 205/55 R16 V. How important is the speed rating? Should I buy speed rating 'H' tyres or pay extra for 'V' rated?

You have to fit at least the speed rating that is standard for the car. Check the driver's manual. 205/55 R16 is the best size for the 160PS Type S because it gives a better combination of ride and handling than the lower profile tyres on bigger wheels that were an option. Good car. De-tuned Type R in the 5 door body.
