Which small SUV or family hatch?

I am looking to buy a small petrol suv/hatchback and am looking at the Renault Capture, Volkswagen Golf and Citroen Cactus. I will be doing about 8,000 miles per year made up of 5000 motorway 3000 town. Looking to keep the car at least 5 years. What would be your recommendation?

The Golf offers the best driving experience and feelgood factor. The Captur in bright colours is the most cheerful and likely to be best for kids (because the seat covers come off to be cleaned). The jury's out on the Cactus, but has a softer ride and the 1.2 Puretech 110 is a good choice of engine.
