What's the best estate for £1000?
I am looking for big car, preferably an estate. I have £1000 to spend and the car needs to have low road tax and insurance, with cheap maintenance. What do you suggest I buy?

For £1,000 it's anyone's guess. You will almost inevitably be buying a lot of age and wear related problems. Asking for a big car, preferably an estate, with low tax and insurance is like asking for a world cruise for £500. Stick to better known makes and models for cheaper and better parts availability. An old rear wheel drive Volvo may do the job, and all will fall into the £230pa tax bracket.
