Need a used motorway muncher - what do you suggest?
My 2006 Jaguar XJ diesel is starting to give me problems. The car has covered 109,000 miles and rather than paying for repairs I would rather change the vehicle for something else. I'm looking for something 2-3 years old, automatic and above all a comfortable ride with a history of reliability.
I do 20k a year mostly motorway miles. My car is probably worth 4-5k trade in and I have a max 15k to add to it. I know my budget won't get the same class of car as the XJ. I was thinking of petrol but my mileage may lean to a diesel.

Current model Mazda 6. It's not only the best front wheel drive car in its class, it's also incredibly strong. Rides better on 17-inch wheels than 19s, but to get the top features you have to go for the Sport with the 19s. Excellent 6 speed autobox.
