What's the best hatchback for £4000?
I'm looking to purchase a reasonable diesel five-door hatchback for between £4000- £5000. I'm a sucker for power so the sportier models are preferred. So far I've come to decide the best "bang for buck" is from a Mazda 3 or Volkswagen Golf. Can you recommend any other cars which might be of my interest?

Your bucks could go bang with any £4000 - £5000 diesel. Check them out in www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar
Currently, the most reliable seem to be the KIA cee'd 1.6CRDI and Hyundai i30 1.6CRDI. But a Honda Civic 1.8iES or SE gives almost as good mpg with excellent reliability.
