Need a newish car with comfortable seats

I have driven Mercedes-Benz 220CDIs for 10 years and have been very happy with them. But I now want the same quality build/engineering,fuel economy, but with more comfort.

I am 61 years old and six foot three inched in height. So I want German engineering with French seating! I like the feel/torque of a diesel, but do only 12,000 miles a year so either fuel would be OK, as long as it goes like a rocket when needed. What do you recommend?

Volvo S60 D4 181 DriveE SE has good seats, does 60mpg and has 400Nm torque. But be sure to get a big discount. £5k +.
