Should I sue over a parking ticket?
Can I sue in the county court for a parking ticket which was wrongly issued because of incompetence?
I was sent a fine after the parking firm accused me of inputting the incorrect vehicle registration. The ticket has been cancelled as a gesture of goodwill, but I’m intending to send a letter and ask for reimbursement of £100, comprising £50 for my time in dealing with the appeal, and, £50 for the distress caused by their actions. Is this wise?

Better not send that. You have made a mistake.
The parking firm's camera captured the correct registration. That is how they got your details from DVLA and sent you the parking charge notice.
But someone input the incorrect registration into the machine.
Accept the waiving of the penalty graciously.
