What's the best 4x4 for £20,000?
I am about to purchase a replacement car. It needs to be able to carry skis for my annual runs to the French Alps and cost around £20,000 (new or used). I would prefer a 4x4, but am also aware that winter tyres would suffice. We drive around 10,000 miles per year, with most trips over 10 miles. I quite like the Skoda Yeti, but also like the Kia Sportage and Hyundai ix35. Can you help?

The best Yeti by a long way is the 1.8TSI 4WD, but it is also the least economical Yeti. Sportages and i35s may look better, but don't drive better. A Honda CR-V 2.2iDTEC AWD is worth considering for the comfort.
