New exhaust making humming noise

Our garage has just fitted a new rear exhaust pipe to our 2005 Fiat Panda. My wife is fed up because the car now has a humming noise, especially at high speeds. The garage checked for leaks by putting a hand over the exhaust pipe-the engine stopped. Will the noise go with time?

It's the baffles in the silencer resonating. If you want the original noise you will need to make sure that a FIAT rear silencer box is fitted.
