How can I improve the fuel economy in my Fiesta?

We have a new Ford Fiesta Ecoboost 100PS, but the fuel consumption is nowhere near what the stated mpg should be. We're getting barely 42mpg which is hardly any better than our prior, 2006 Ford Focus 1.6 petrol.

Driving style is mainly country roads at around 56mph, so we were hoping for much better mpg. Is this a known issue?

Real mpg shows a 44.1mpg average, so you're not far out. Try switching to Shell V-Power. That should give you 46 - 48mpg. www.honestjohn.co.uk/realmpg/ford/fiesta-2013
