Can a number of faults on a Used Approved Citroen C4 be repaired under warranty?
I bought an approved used 2006 C4 from a Citroen dealer last December. I had to take the car to my local Citroen garage this month to have the wheels balanced. My MOT is due in July, so I asked them to have a look at the car. They carried out a visual health check and came up with the following (cost of repairs in brackets):
Red items: front brakes discs worn below min thickness (£310.85). Clutch biting very high, all action in last inch of travel (£988.32). Suspension, rear shock damper stop insecure (£58.66). Amber items: tyres: tread, OSF, worn (£75.39). Tyres: tyre condition, rear, cracked (£75.39). Plus minor things like the windscreen washer fluid turning to jelly and the keyblade sticking in the handle. All this with a visual check. I'm concerned that there could be more after a more thorough inspection. The repairs on the suspension was covered by the Citroen warranty but the rest is all wear and tear. The Citroen employee I talked to informed me that there was rust on the brakes.
Can brakes get rusty in six months? Can the clutch be worn that much in six months? What can I expect from the garage that sold me the car? Will they have to pay for the repairs? If so, can they be done at my local Citroen garage? I was horrified at those findings as I went to a Citroen dealer precisely to avoid those problems.

Too late. Had all this been discovered within six months of purchase you would have had a case against the supplying dealer. As it is, you are just out of time. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights
