'New' tyre is two years old?
I have just had four new Goodyear tyres fitted to my mothers Lexus GS300. The tyres were sourced via the internet and fitted at a tyre depot.
On bringing the wheels home to fit to the car I have seen that the manufacture code is 4811, so the tyres were made in the 48th week of 2011.
Is it acceptable and safe to be selling "new" tyres that were manufactured more than two years ago, as I have read that tyres deteriorate over age?

Tyre deteriorate when subject to UV rays, not when stored correctly in dark store rooms.
