Can you recommend a used car that's cheap to run?

I want to buy a used small car (up to three years old) that is cheap to run and has high seats. I will cover about 5000 miles a year. What do you recommend?

FIAT 500 1.2 petrol. Surprisingly comfortable and reliable. For more doors, a Suzuki Splash or Vauxhall Agila.

Stylish and full of character. Really affordable to buy. Low running costs.
Surprisingly spacious small five-door city car. Makes best sense with 1.0 petrol engine. Much better than old Agila. Rebadged version of Suzuki Splash.
