My husband needs a petrol manual car with a large boot - is the Audi A4 Avant worth considering?
My husband needs to replace his ageing 1999 Saab 9-5 Estate SE 2.0-litre turbo with Hersch management system. It has 80,000 on the clock. Should he look for a similar car circa four years old, or consider perhaps the Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TFSI (211 PS) SE? Any other suggestions? Priorities include a petrol engine, a manual gearbox and a large capacity boot for transporting a model railway layout to exhibitions, which the Saab can cope with.

I'd definitely go for the Audi A4 2.0TFSI 211 Avant. This is now a chain cam engine (like the Saab) and is good to drive, particularly the quattro version. (They did go for the A4.)
