Which small car to replace our Ford Fiesta?
My wife owns a 1999 Ford Fiesta 1.25 five-door hatchback but now fancies something more modern. The car must accommodate a set of golf clubs in the boot. Annual mileage is about 3000, mainly shopping and driving to the golf club. The Fiesta has done 45,500 miles and has been totally reliable the whole time. We would like advice on a replacement, ideally a manual with low VED/insurance and five doors, up to two years old. Your advice as to the best method to dispose of the Fiesta will also be appreciated.

I'd go for a Mazda 2 1.3TS2, which has been £30 tax for about a year now. It's huge fun to drive, like an updated version of the car she has. And it's chain cam so there's no cam belt to worry about (not that the belt on a Fiesta 1.25 was ever a huge worry anyway). For more room, consider a Honda Jazz 1.2 or 1.4 manual (also chain cam).
